Analysis

THE TAILWHEEL AIRPLANE NOSED-OVER ON THE PRIVATE GRASS AIRSTRIP WHILE TAXIING AFTER LANDING. THE PILOT REPORTED THE AIRPLANE'S BRAKES WERE SENSITIVE, AND THAT SHE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE WHILE TAXIING, CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO NOSE-OVER.

Factual Information

On October 10, 1994, about 1330 central daylight time, A Great Lakes model 2T-1A-2 airplane, N933EB, sustained substantial damage when it nosed-over while taxiing from landing at a private airstrip near Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. The Airline Transport certificated pilot and the sole passenger aboard reported no injuries. The local pleasure flight departed Racine, Wisconsin about 1215, and operated in visual meteorological conditions without a flight plan. The pilot reported she applied the brakes excessively while taxiing from landing and the airplane nosed-over.
