On September 17, 1996, at 0730 central daylight time (cdt), a Cessna 172RG, N966LA, registered to Lumanair, Inc., of Aurora, Illinois, was substantially damaged after being allegedly stolen during the night. The airplane was discovered upside down between the runway and taxiway the following morning at Aurora Municipal Airport, Aurora, Illinois. The airplane had .6 hours recorded on the tach at the time of the accident. No flight plan was on file. The airplane was allegedly stolen during the night and found the next day.
