The pilot attempted to land on a private airport. There were no witnesses; however the pilot's brother discovered the airplane impacted on the approach end of the runway. The pilot received serious injuries and does not recall the events of the accident. An examination of the airplane subsequent to the accident revealed no pre-accident anomalies.
On June 13, 1998, at 1130 central daylight time, a Cessna 150F, N3596L, sustained substantial damage on impact with the terrain while landing at a private airport near Dallas, South Dakota. The student pilot received serious injuries.. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. No flight plan was on file. The personal flight was operating under provisions of 14 CFR Part 91. The flight originated in Gregory, South Dakota, at 1100. There were no witnesses to the accident. The airplane was located by the pilot's brother on the approach end of the runway. The pilot sustained injuries and does not recall the events at the time of the accident. Federal Aviation Administration officials stated that the pilot's student certificate was expired at the time of the accident and the most recent annual inspection of the airplane was February 22, 1997. An examination of the airplane revealed no pre-accident anomalies.
