Analysis

THE STUDENT PILOT SAID THAT HE HAD JUST TOUCHDOWN DOWN, WHEN ANOTHER AIRCRAFT LANDED ON TOP OF HIS AIRCRAFT. THE TWO AIRCRAFT LOCKED TOGETHER AND CAME TO A STOP ABOUT 600 FEET DOWN THE RUNWAY ON CENTERLINE. THE UNINJURED PILOT EXITED THROUGH THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT AS HE WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR.

Probable Cause and Findings

A POORLY PLANNED APPROACH AND INADEQUATE VISUAL LOOKOUT BY THE PILOT OF THE OTHER AIRCRAFT.
