Analysis

DURING INITIAL CLIMB AFTER TAKEOFF, IN WEATHER CONDITIONS WHICH WERE CONDUCIVE TO CARBURETOR ICING, THE PILOT FAILED TO APPLY CARBURETOR HEAT. THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED INTO TREES.
