Analysis

WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH FOR LANDING, THE AIRPLANE ENCOUNTERED A DOWNDRAFT. THE PILOT APPLIED POWER, HOWEVER, THE AIRPLANE COUNTINUED TO SINK AND STRUCK A TREE. THE AIRPLANE LANDED SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A DITCH.
