Analysis

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TAKEOFF FROM A SOGGY SOD RUNWAY, OVERROTATED, AND DRAGGED THE TIEDOWN LOOP ON THE SURFACE SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN AIRBORNE, THE AIRPLANE GAINED ONLY 20 FEET AND SUBSEQUENTLY STRUCK A TREE OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY.

Probable Cause and Findings

THE PILOT'S EXCESSIVE ROTATION, WHICH RESULTED IN AN INADVERTENT MUSHED STALL AND COLLISION WITH TREES.
