Analysis

DURING A NORMAL APPROACH TO A SOD STRIP, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE GUSTY WIND CONDITION CEASED AND THE ACFT STALLED TO THE GROUND SHORT OF THE INTENDED LANDING AREA. THE PILOT WAS NOT ABLE TO RECOVER FROM THE SINKING CONDITION. THE IMPACT CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT DID NOT REPORT ANDY MECHANICAL FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION.
