Factual Information

On August 6, 2009, at approximately 15:28 coordinated universal time (UTC), a Fokker F28 Mk0100, registered in Austria and operated by an Austrian Commercial Aircraft Operator, experienced an electrical fire/smoke during engine startup for departure at Wien-Schwechat International Airport (LOWW). There were no injuries to crewmembers or to the passengers on board. The incident investigation is under jurisdiction and control of the Accident Investigation Branch of Austria.
