Factual Information

On June 13, 2010 about 0900 UTC, ZS-ZOC, a Swearingen SA226 Metro 11, an unscheduled commercial domestic flight, operated African Skies Aviation, was involved in a wheels up landing at Lanseria Aerodrome (FALA), Johannesburg, South Africa. The 2 crewmembers and 14 passengers were not injured. The airplane was substantially damaged and there was no fire. The domestic flight was originally destined for Polokwane Aerodrome in Limpopo where during the approach, the left main gear failed to extend and the crew elected to return to FALA to execute a wheels up landing.
