Factual Information

On June 24, 2013, at 1544 coordinated universal time, a DeHavilland DHC-2MK 1, Canadian registered C-FPCG, owned and operated by Seair Seaplanes, was substantially damaged near Half Moon Bay, Canada. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The pilot and three passenger were not injured. The flight originated from Toda Inlet, Canada. The Canadian investigators received reports that while en route at 2,000 feet, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and the propeller separated from the engine, damaging both floats. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Canadian government.
