Factual Information

On August 27, 2013, at 1119 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-28R-201 airplane, Swiss registered HB-PDC, was substantially damaged when it impacted trees and terrain under unknown circumstances near Sarnen, Switzerland. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The pilot and one passenger were seriously injured; the other passenger was fatally injured. The flight was originating at the time of the accident. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Swiss government.
