Factual Information

On January 15, 2014, about 2030 coordinated universal time (1530 local time), a Helio Courier HT-295, Ecuadorian registration HC-BTC, was substantially damaged during a forced landing after takeoff from Edmundo Carvajal Airport (SEMC), Macas, Ecuador. The Ecuadorian commercial pilot and one passenger were seriously injured, and two passengers sustained minor injuries. The airplane, which was en route to Taisha Airport (SETH), Taisha, Ecuador, was operating under Ecuadorian flight regulations. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Ecuador.
