Factual Information

On February 18, 2014, about 1315 universal coordinated time, a Robinson R22 - BETA, Brazilian registration PT-YFV, was destroyed when it impacted water, near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The flight instructor and student pilot were fatally injured. The local training flight originated from Jacarepaguá–Roberto Marinho Airport (SBJR), near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) of Brazil.
