Factual Information

On September 20, 2014, at 0935 local time, a DeHavilland DHC-6 300, P2-KSF, collided with steep, jungle-covered terrain just below the summit of Mount Lawes, Papua New Guinea. The aircraft was operated by Hevilift under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Papua New Guinea. The aircraft was substantially damaged. The two pilots and two of the passengers were fatally injured. One passenger was seriously injured and four passengers received minor injuries. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Papua New Guinea.
