Factual Information

On October 1, 2014, about 2200 universal coordinated time, a Cessna T206H, Ecuadorian registration HC-CLO, was destroyed when it impacted a field while returning to land at an airstrip in Sarayacu, Pastaza, Ecuador, after a loss of engine power during initial climb. The Ecuadorian commercial pilot and four passengers were fatally injured, while two passengers were seriously injured. The airplane, originally destined for Aeropuerto Rio Amazonas, Pastaza, Ecuador, was operating under Ecuadorian flight regulations. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Ecuador.
