Factual Information

On December 16, 2014, about 1839 UTC, a DeHavilland DHC-8-400Q, powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) PW150A turboprop engines, experienced an engine casing burn-through and in-flight shutdown near Belfast International Airport. Belfast, N. Ireland. There were no injuries to the 80 crew and passengers aboard and minor damage to the airplane. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom.
