Factual Information

On November 14, 2015, at 1157 UTC, a Cessna 172, Spanish registration EC-HKH, collided with the water in the Astondo Bay off the coast of Gorliz, Spain, following a loss of engine power. The pilot and one passenger received minor injuries and a second passenger received serious injuries. The airplane has not been recovered from the water at the time of this report. The local personal flight originated from the Bilbao Airport (LEBB), Bilbao, Spain. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Spanish government.
