Factual Information

On May 17, 2016, about 1615 coordinated universal time (UTC), a Piper Aircraft, Inc. PA-28R-200 airplane, Norwegian registration LN-AAM, impacted trees and terrain, near Halden, Norway. The airplane was destroyed during impact and the pilot, the sole occupant, was a fatality in this accident. The flight departed from the Stavanger/Sola Airport, near Stavanger, Norway, and was destined for the Torsnes Airstrip, near Fredrikstad, Norway. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Norwegian government.
