Factual Information

On May 16, 2017, about 0530 hours universal coordinated time, an Ayres S2R airplane, French registration F-GIEN, was substantially damaged during a forced landing following a loss of engine power near Candillargues, France. The pilot was not injured. The local flight had departed from the Montipellier-Candillargues Airport (LFNG). The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses (BEA).
