Factual Information

On February 10, 2017, about 0952 local time, a Cessna 172 airplane, Republic of Korea registration number HL1171, operated by a flight school, sustained minor damage following a forced landing in a shallow river near Giseong-ri, Republic of Korea. The pilot and passenger sustained no injuries. The AVIATION and RAILWAY ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION BOARD, Republic of Korea is investigating the incident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane, the NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation to assist AVIATION and RAILWAY ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION BOARD in their investigation.
