Factual Information

On June 19, 2019, about 1315 universal coordinated time, a Piper PA28-201T, French registration F-ODSM, experienced an engine failure on takeoff and during the emergency landing, impacted obstacles near the Pointe-A-Pitre Raizet Aerodrome (PTP), French Antilles. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot sustained serious injuries. The Bureau d'Enquetes et d'Analyses (BEA) of the government of France is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane and engine, the NTSB has designated a US accredited representative to assist the BEA in its investigation.
