Analysis

The pilot reported that, during takeoff from a dirt road, the nosewheel struck an object and resulted in the airplane nosing over. During the accident sequence, substantial damage was sustained to the empennage and wings. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.

Probable Cause and Findings

The pilot’s decision to takeoff from an unimproved surface which resulted in a collision with an object and the airplane nosing over.
